You’re not alone.
Graduate school trains you to be intellectually
rigorous, but it does not always prepare you
to strategically navigate a complex
and unstable job market.
Many graduate students are:
Balancing work and research.
Facing economic uncertainty.
Navigating imposter syndrome.
Trying to decode invisible expectations.
Applying widely without clarity.
What's we'll cover?
Week 1: Clarity Before Applications
Revisit your “why,” clarify values, and identify 2–3 aligned career directions before sending another application into the void.
Week 2: Translating Your Academic Identity + Entrepreneurship
Turn your dissertation, teaching, and research into compelling professional positioning. Explore consulting, side ventures, and entrepreneurial options.
Week 3: Strategic Job Search in a Tough Market
Learn how to leverage the hidden job market, conduct informational interviews, and network without feeling performative.
Week 4: Personal Branding + 90-Day Action Plan
Refine your professional narrative, update your positioning, and create a structured, sustainable 90-day plan.
Week 5 (Optional): Integration + Celebration
Reflect, refine, troubleshoot, and celebrate wins in a supportive close-out session.
Who is this for?
You are a master’s or doctoral student or recent graduate.
You often feel like you should be able to “handle it” on your own.
You are anxious about the job market.
You feel paralyzed about what to do next.
You are ready to move from confusion to clarity.
You are not alone in this experience.

Dr. Emmanuela
Founder
Hi! I'm Dr. Emmanuela.
I’m the founder of Dr. Emmanuela Consulting, and I support graduate students and early-career professionals as they navigate the often unclear and overwhelming transition from graduate school to what comes next.
Before launching my business, I spent over 15 years working in higher education in areas like residence life and career services. I’ve supported hundreds of students as they navigated their academic and professional journeys, and I’ve also lived this experience myself.
I earned my PhD in Higher Education Administration while working full-time, and I know firsthand what it feels like to move through systems that are not always transparent, supportive, or designed with your full reality in mind.
What I’ve come to understand, both through my own experience and through my work with clients, is that these challenges are not simply about motivation or ability.
They are often about navigating environments that lack clarity, structure, and accessible support.
This work is deeply personal to me because I know what it feels like to try to figure it all out alone.
You don’t have to.
You do not have to earn your place through silent struggle.
